DriveAbility: Terms & Conditions
Cancellation Policy
DriveAbility operates a strict 48-hour cancellation policy.
If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, you must provide at least 48 hours’ notice via phone or WhatsApp. If the lesson has been booked via Booking Platfom (Setmore), student is obliged to use this platform to rearrange the lesson as suits within the allowed period.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice will be charged the full lesson fee.
For students on a pre-paid block booking, one session will be deducted from your remaining balance if the 48-hour notice is not met.
It is your responsibility to check times, dates and location of sessions.
Should it become necessary for Your Instructor to cancel your lesson, we will endeavour to provide you with as much notice as possible. We will also make every effort to reschedule your lesson to an alternative time and/or date that is suitable for you. Should this not be possible, then upon your request, the lesson fee (if prepaid) will be refunded to you in full.
Your instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson or finish a lesson early on grounds of road safety.
Driving License & Legal Requirements
All students must hold a valid Irish Learner Permit for the duration of every lesson. You must have the physical card with you; digital copies or receipts are not legally sufficient to begin a lesson.
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure their permit is in date. No refund will be given if a lesson cannot proceed due to an expired or missing permit.
Punctuality
I will always aim to be exactly on time. If I am running late due to D15 traffic or a previous test, I will text you immediately and the time will be added to the end of your lesson or carried over.
If the student is late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time to ensure the next student is not delayed.
Penalty Points and Fixed Charge Notices (FCNs)
Penalty points and/or Fixed Charge Notices incurred by students during lessons will be the full responsibility of the student.
Payments
In order to secure the lesson a full payment must be made at the time of booking and no later than 5 days before the agreed lesson. Payments are non-refundable except in exceptional circumstances at the instructor’s discretion. Accepted payment methods include but are not limited to: cash, Revolut, Stripe.
Booking platform
Driveability offers its customers a booking platform (Setmore), where students may find and reserve a lesson that suits their needs. Upon successful booking, student receives a confirmation email which he is requested to keep until the lesson as a proof of booking. The above email also contains a link allowing to reschedule the lesson within no less than 48 hours before the appointment
Fees & Refunds
All block bookings (e.g., 12-lesson EDT) must be paid in full at least 5 days before the first lesson.
Block bookings are non-refundable but are transferable to another person upon request.
Customer Vehicles
Certain trainings might be delivered in the customer’s vehicle. Customer’s vehicle must satisfy all legal requirements. It must be roadworthy, taxed and insured as appropriate with valid discs displayed. A valid NCT disc (if applicable) must also be displayed. L Plates/N Plates must be displayed as appropriate. Customer must be insured to drive the vehicle used for their lessons.
Your instructor will carry out vehicle checks prior to commencement of lessons to ensure legal compliance. Lack of legal compliance will result in cancellation of the lesson with full costs applied to the customer.
Please note that the training will not go ahead if:
The tax, insurance or NCT discs (if required) are not displayed and valid.
The vehicle is not roadworthy e.g. if there any warning lights displayed (including tyre pressure warning indicators), if tyres are below minimum legal standards or any other aspect that affects roadworthiness.
Insurance – student’s car
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their vehicle is insured appropriately as certain trainings might be delivered in the customer’s vehicle. Any liability, claims or costs associated with incidents arising during driver training sessions, when the customer is the driver, will be the responsibility of the customer. The Instructor will have no liability in this regard.
Student unfit for the lesson
Your Instructor reserves the right to cancel a lesson should You, in Your Instructor’s opinion, be unfit to drive, be it due to suspected use of alcohol, drugs or medication impairing your driving. You will be liable to pay for 100% of the lesson fee.
Damage to the school vehicle
If during a lesson or a driving test there has been damage caused to the school vehicle (e.g. wheels, tyres or else) due to careless driving then Your Instructor reserves the right to seek the appropriate fees to have damage caused by your actions repaired.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers have a 5 year expiry date, starting from the day they were purchased. All vouchers are non-refundable. Vouchers may be used for more than one transaction. Cash refunds are not permitted. Vouchers may not be redeemed for cash.
Driving Pack
This package is for drivers holding a full driving licence. Lessons are conducted in the driver’s own car. During the session drivers must obey all applicable rules (e.g. rules of the road, tolls, etc), be authorised to use the vehicle and ensure the vehicle used during the session complies with all regulations e.g. is road worthy, is insured and taxed. All discs, brake lights, indicators, tyres and general condition will be checked ahead of the lesson.
Vehicle Safety & Car Hire for Tests
Car hire is subject to driving standard assessment prior to the exam date/car hire. The instructor reserves the right to refuse the use of the school car for a driving test if, in his professional opinion, the student has not reached a safe standard of driving.
Car hire for the driving test is a separate service and is only available to students who have completed a minimum of one assessment/mock test with DriveAbility.

This website and its content, social media accounts and their content, company logo and name, branding, reviews, pictures and or videos are the company’s property and can’t be copied, published, used partially or in full without prior consent of the Company.
