How many EDT lessons do I need for an automatic driving test in Ireland?

Regardless of whether you choose manual or automatic, the RSA requires all learners to complete 12 Essential Driver Training (EDT) lessons. At Driveability, we specialize in automatic EDT lessons to help you progress faster through the syllabus.

Can I use a Driveability automatic car for my driving test at Maple House?

Yes! We provide car hire for the driving test at Maple House and Mulhuddart (N3/Maxol). This includes a pre-test lesson immediately before your exam to ensure you are comfortable and confident.

Is the driving test easier in an automatic car?

Many students find the automatic test easier because it eliminates the risk of stalling and the complexity of gear changes. This allows you to focus more on observation and road positioning, which are key scoring areas in the Dublin 15 test routes.

I would definitely recommend Tomek to anyone looking for a driving instructor. I was quite nervous when I started learning and would panic very easily, but Tomek was always really patient, calm and reassuring. He never made me feel bad when I made mistakes and always explained things and took the time to help me understand what I was doing wrong. He was encouraging without making me feel under pressure, and I felt like he adapted the lessons to what I needed and helped me build my confidence as well as my driving skills. I had lessons in the Mulhuddart area and genuinely couldn't have asked for a nicer instructor. I’d definitely recommend Tomek if you're looking for an instructor in the area especially if you’re a nervous learner or lack confidence behind the wheel. He made the whole experience much less stressful and I always felt I was in good hands.

Tomek thought me how to drive, I started off a very nervous driver and on lesson 12 I didn’t realise how confident I had gotten. Tomek is such a lovely man, so patient and had a lovely aura to him. I would definitely recommend him to all my friends who will start driving!!

Chose Tomek as my driving instructor to refresh my driving skills. We went around the Mulhuddart and Blanchardstown area and he was a very calm and patient coach throughout. Definitely would recommend especially for new or anxious drivers!
